How scoring works
Every submitted game is auto-analyzed by Lichess and scored with a simple, transparent formula. Community votes are counted separately, so we crown a Best by Score and a Best by Votes.
- Accuracy: +0.1 point for every 1% accuracy
- Inaccuracy: −0.01 point each
- Mistake: −0.1 point each
- Blunder: −1 point each
- Average Centipawn Loss (ACPL): +3 if below 20, +2 if below 50, +1 if below 70, otherwise 0
- Rating difference: no points within ±100, then ±0.01 point per rating point beyond that (bonus if opponent is stronger, penalty if weaker)
